Trees, Cracks, Chasms, and Thickets

Etching, 2024 – ongoing

The etching series “Trees, Cracks, Chasms, and Thickets” combines various depictions of elements from the landscape of my hometown. This is a project of observing the landscape, its transformations, and its being-in-itself. The central focus of this series is trees. I am captivated by their life force, strength, and resilience, which simultaneously embody vulnerability in the face of danger. The sight of a broken tree evokes almost physical pain. Delicate and fragile stems growing through the remnants of buildings transform into a reflection on a future after humanity.
